Alison Foster, DPT
Dr. Alison Foster attended the University of Pittsburgh where she graduated Summa Cum Laude in 2011 with an undergraduate degree in Rehabilitation Science. During her undergraduate studies, she developed an interest in health, wellness, and physical rehabilitation, leading her to pursue a career in physical therapy. Dr. Foster continued her education at Pitt and received her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree in 2014. Throughout her clinical internships as a graduate student, she developed a strong interest in the assessment and treatment of vestibular and balance disorders. Under the direction of clinical instructors, she gained hands-on experience in the management and rehabilitation of a variety of patients in order to reduce dizziness, improve balance, minimize falls, maximize independence, and improve quality of life.
After graduation from the University of Pittsburgh, Dr. Foster moved to Austin, Texas where she has worked as a physical therapist with the geriatric population in retirement communities and long term care facilities for two and a half years. During this time, she gained further experience in the treatment and rehabilitation of a variety of conditions within this population, but continued to have a great passion for balance and vestibular therapy. She is now eager to bring her knowledge, skills, and excitement for vestibular therapy to the Hearing & Balance Center of Austin and FYZICAL in order to better lives and improve physical function.
